What is Cork Leather?

Cork leather, or cork fabric, is a lightweight, ultra durable product made from the bark of cork oak trees in Portugal. Once produced, the cork is bonded to a fabric backing. This product is water and flame resistant, and hypoallergenic. Cork fabric is made with the look of the natural bark, so it will have naturally occurring divets and cracks. This is normal and not a flaw in the product. Some natural signs of wear and cracking may occur, especially in areas of great use, such as the corners of a wallet or bag. This is normal and will not affect the structural integrity of the product.

Care Instructions

Cork leather can be cleaned by wiping down with water on a clean cloth. If additional cleaning is required, you may use a mild soap, diluted with water, and wipe clean. Do not machine wash, dry clean, or iron your cork products.

Why Choose Cork Products?

Cork products are sustainable, vegan, PETA approved, cruelty-free, fade-resistant, light weight, durable, water and flame resistant, and hypoallergenic. We source the highest quality cork, harvested from the bark of cork oak trees in Portugal. The harvesting process removes the bark from the tree without causing any harm to the tree itself. Cork bark can be harvested from a tree approximately once every 9 years, with each tree having a lifespan of 200-300 years. Cork fabric can be used as an alternative to animal leather, matching it in both durability and beauty. It comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns and can enhance any accessory.
